Networking events? Urghhh.

Reminds me of a former colleague who, when talking about an office party,
went on about how many "key" people were going to be there. When I asked
him if everything in his life revolved around his quest to ascend further up
the greasy pole that is careers in administration, he said "If I'm not
networking, I'm not working." Slimy get. He'd love this sort of thing.
